GNC products are made to the highest standards possible because we own one of the largest, most modern vitamin and supplement manufacturing facilities in the United States, where we continually rise above and beyond GMP standards.
GNC products are manufactured in the US by Nutra Manufacturing, operating using GMP, FDA approved and TGA certified facilities based in South California. GMP (Good Manufaturing Practice) is used internationally to describe a set of principles and procedures that are necessary to follow by manufactures of therapeutic goods in order to provide assurance that each batch of products is safe, reliable and of consistently high quality.
This in turn protects the consumers, making safe and efficacious products available for them. GMP requirements are enforced by health authorities through systems of factory audits and mandatory licencing of these factories.
It only takes a miniscule amount of a banned substance in a sport nutrition supplement to cause an athlete to fail a doping test. The ratio would be the same as a teaspoon of a contaminated substance in an Olympic-size swimming pool. LGC is responsible for Informed-Choice, a globally-recognised quality assurance programme that tests sports nutrition products for a wide range of substances that are banned in a sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). “If the product has an Informed-Choice logo, you can trust that it has been quality reviewed and thoroughly tested for banned substances to provide assurance for the consumer. Currently there are 220 products listed on the Informed-Choice programme.
GNC International has 45 products listed, the highest representation of the Informed-Choice approved list, with no other nutrition brand matching the number of products represented.
